Over the years pass, less major equipment suppliers urge to expose to the world of the automobile. The reasons are many and sometimes specific to each case. More generally, it should be noted that the 2002 Edition was a turning point. The organizer of the world wanted at the time find surfaces in Hall 1 and had proposed to the OEMs install in Hall 4. Bosch had refused to explain, even after the proposal of an alternative consisting of 18 square metres in Hall 1. The Faurecia stand, behind Volkswagen had, said, generated a memorable anger of his President Pierre Levi, who has developed the feet only once. In short, after this bad year, things have improved in 2004, but quantitatively, 2006 will be marked by some distance from the major global suppliers: Bosch, Faurecia, Valeo, SiemensVDO, Denso and Delphi are missing the appeal of this 2006 Edition. Course, the case of Delphi is a little specific, but other OEMs, in much better financial health, found that the investment return report was insufficient. Nevertheless, others have found conversely: it comes to Honeywell, Aisin, Akebono and Autoliv. In addition, tyre three major producers of Michelin, Bridgestone and Pirelli will exhibit in Hall 1.
Too long for the OEMs

More generally, Thierry Hesse, Commissioner-General of the world of the automobile, replace the debate in the context of the strong influx of 1998 that had required a decision of the admission of the visitors for a few hours. To address this, the 2000 edition had won five days of opening. Now, the world extends over 16 days, including three weekends. What is good for attendance is not necessarily for OEMs which costs increased due to including the necessary presence on the stands. Thierry Hesse agrees: "the duration of the world is the problem of Fund for OEMs, adding: this time difficulty is balanced by the high exposure of the fair with its 1.400.000 visitors." Thierry Hesse noted the contradiction between the erosion of the number of present equipment and the large number of visitors. Tyre producers "who strongly believe in the importance of the world" in addition, there is a sector of the automotive equipment which remains very attached to the world: the audio and on-board electronics. Also note the presence of the petroleum, Total and BP. "The table is not only black, it is grey" supports Thierry Hesse in synthesis and "we will beat us to develop the presence of the equipment. More generally, heavily involved in the alternative and the aftermarket suppliers are more naturally inclined to expose in the major shows. This is the case of specialists of the audio and on-board entertainment, and tyre manufacturers. It would also be the case of figure of those who have such strong brands Bosch and Valeo which seeks to develop its sales on the market of the alternative.
A two-tier in 2008 salon
To break this vicious circle, the world intends to resume for the 2008 Edition, the device in place, last year, at the motorcycle show: a long room for bikes and a short for bikes. "We are working on this idea and we believe that the decrease in the exposure time can be a way to redevelop the world on this sector." It would be to consolidate, in a specific Hall, equipment suppliers eager to expose lower during the sixteen days of the world standard. "These companies offer a shorter and more low cost are an interesting track" continues our interlocutor. He also noted that the erosion of the OEMs participation in major shows is not specific to Paris. Be it in Geneva, Frankfurt or Tokyo, they are receding. Despite this context, and the restrictions of existing budget in some OEMs, Thierry Hesse remains optimistic, but warned: "it is clear that the OEM who wants to make a"Auto bis Equip"years has quite understood the principle of the world of the automobile!
